The next art project „Erratic Blocks“ of the art association „Künstler Gut Loitz e.V.“ will take place on October 30th and 31st, 2015 in Loitz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Andrea will write about Wyman’s art pieces in the upcoming exhibition’s publication.
The background for this year’s art project is the 200th anniversary of Sweden ceding Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (which had fallen under Swedish rule in 1648) to Prussia.
Wyman’s topic is the influence of history on people’s everyday lives; his artwork falls into the categories of found art and ready-mades. Andrea and Wyman collaborated artistically on some of the art pieces
The catalogue in collaboration with our art project in Rostock has been published. My husband Wyman Brent wrote an introductory text, I wrote and co-wrote three articles on the history of certain symbols in art history as well as on current art projects in Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (East Germany). The art projects were created in connection with local associations („Vereine“), an integral part of German culture.
Al Jolson received a memorial stone at Jakovas Bunka’s Litvak memorial park near Plateliai, a small village in the North West of Lithuania, on September 17th, 2014. Jakovas Bunka recently passed away and was considered the last Jew in the town of Plunge, close to Plateliai. Bunka’s son Eugenijus, journalist, writer, and activist, is now leading the foundation. Jens J. Reinke, my partner at AJ-Images.com and my husband Wyman covered the event.
As of now, you can order my new book publication on Fictional Films in Nationalsocialist Germany online and/or at book stores within Germany. The book focuses on how Heimat (home) and Fremde (the foreign) are being portrayed and discussed in different genres of fictional German films between 1933 and 1945. Language of the book is German.
Was ist Heimat?
