Am 23. Februar 2019 lud die Max Dienemann/Salomon Formstecher Gesellschaft Offenbach e.V. zur jüdischen Filmnacht im Filmklubb Offenbach ein. Gezeigt wurden der erste Tonfilm „The Jazz Singer“ (1927) sowie der Dokumentarfilm „Ein Blick auf Al Jolson“ (2007) von der Filmemacherin Andrea Oberheiden-Brent. Im Anschluss gab es ein Interview mit der Filmemacherin, die ihren Sohn Glenn Jolson (5) dabei hatte sowie ihren Ehemann, den Amerikaner Wyman Brent, Gründer der Vilnius Jewish Public Library (2011), der ersten öffentlichen, jüdischen Bibliothek in Litauen seit 1943.

Andrea launched a film, literature and art podcast together with her film partner Jens J. Reinke. The first episode will be published in October of this year and will be about Robin Williams‘ performance in his last dramatic role in Boulevard (2014) as well as about the film’s cinematography. Make sure you don’t miss it!
The next art project „Erratic Blocks“ of the art association „Künstler Gut Loitz e.V.“ will take place on October 30th and 31st, 2015 in Loitz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Andrea will write about Wyman’s art pieces in the upcoming exhibition’s publication.
The background for this year’s art project is the 200th anniversary of Sweden ceding Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (which had fallen under Swedish rule in 1648) to Prussia.
Wyman’s topic is the influence of history on people’s everyday lives; his artwork falls into the categories of found art and ready-mades. Andrea and Wyman collaborated artistically on some of the art pieces
